Karen Keast trained as a Dietitian at The University of Sydney and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics in 1988. Karen has worked at Westmead, Ryde and Lady Davidson Hospitals in Sydney. Her experience has been varied from acute care to rehabilitation, aged care and palliative care. In 1997, she commenced working with Huntington's Disease clients at Lottie Stewart Hospital in Sydney. She continues to be employed part time by the NSW Huntington's Disease Service. Karen has a particular interest in assisting people with swallowing difficulties access conveniently available foods in the community. She has been involved in the development of the resource package called "Shop to Swallow" and is currently compiling a similar resource on take away foods.
