The Association began a holiday program in 1981 which continues to give people with Huntington's Disease some time for respite, relaxation and socialising in a tranquil rural setting.
(Bowling is a popular camp activity. The photograph at right shows Alex "sending one down"!)
Two 5-day holidays are held each year for people in the earlier stages of HD. We also run one 3-day holiday each year for people living in hostel care or at Lottie Stewart Hospital.
Camps are run with the assistance of both staff and volunteer helpers. We always welcome new volunteers. If you would like more information about becoming a holiday volunteer please contact the Association.
Transport is provided from the Association's office in West Ryde to the holiday venue on Monday and return on Friday. Anyone who would like to stay for a shorter time will need to arrange his/her own transport.
Some camps include a program for carers, both those accompanying the person they care for and those who are not. More information is available on the Association news page.
